Plymouth State University Professor of Tourism Management and Director of the Institute for New Hampshire Studies Mark Okrant will be signing his recently released "An Icy Reception," the third book in his Kary Turnell mystery series. Turnell, a “fifty-something college professor and former crime reporter…endeavors to repair relationships he’s damaged with family and friends while being drawn – at times reluctantly – into murder investigations at historic resort properties.” His latest adventure takes him on a cruise ship in the Arctic Ocean; a project Mark calls “a labor of love on a number of levels,” as it involved nearly forty years of research.

Robyn Okrant, an “average 35-year-old woman" in Chicago, embarked on a unique one-year mission: to live every aspect of her life as Oprah Winfrey directed. Why? Robyn recognized that of all the cultural influences on American women, Oprah’s is perhaps the single most prevalent one, and she wanted to put it to the test herself. After a year of blogging, Robyn reveals the hilarious, poignant, frustrating and surprising results of her social experiment in a new book: ‘Living Oprah: My One-Year Experiment to Walk the Walk of the Queen of Talk.’” Since the year’s end, Robyn has appeared on the Today Show, CNBC’s The Oprah Effect, The Bonnie Hunt Show, Fox and Friends, The Joy Behar Show, Good Day L.A., and NPR’s All Things Considered. She’s also been featured in the New York Times, People Magazine, USA Today, the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago SunTimes, Entertainment Weekly, TV Guide, Salon.com, and The Huffington Post.

Both titles, including the other two books of the Kary Turnell series and past publications of Mark's are all available for purchase at PBE. For further information about the books, authors, or signing check out:
